003: 3 QUESTIONS
JONNO DAVIES
Actor Jonno Davies moves between performance and quiet reflection. Known for roles in films such as Better Man and Mother's Pride, we spoke about perception, the freedom of performance, and the things that matter most: work, family, health.
On a balcony overlooking the River Thames on The Strand in London, we caught Jonno on what was believed to be the first sunny day of 2026 in the United Kingdom so far.
I think people assume I’m more confident than I actually am. Maybe that’s partly my own doing. I love being around people and sharing experiences, but I’m definitely more introverted than people realise.
I need that time on my own to recharge and feel like myself again. So I suppose I’m an extrovert in some ways, but one who really needs those quiet, introverted moments.
If I don’t get that time to reset, the battery just runs flat.
It’s funny because the answer is almost the opposite of the question. In a strange way, I probably feel most like myself when I’m pretending to be someone else.
When I’m performing, whether it’s on stage, doing music, or something like the work I did on Better Man, that’s when I feel most bold, playful and worthy.
Even though I’m stepping into another character, those moments allow me to tap into parts of myself that don’t always show up in everyday life.
I think it comes down to three pillars.
First, work. Something that’s financially stable but also creatively stimulating. Work that supports my family, but also feeds that part of me that wants to perform and create.
Second, is joy at home. My wife and our two boys, and a house that’s always open to family and friends. I hope my boys grow into brave, kind young men, and that our home always feels welcoming to the people around us.
And the third pillar, health. I’m in my early thirties now and you start to realise how important that is. I want to feel energised and capable well into the future. Still able to play golf with my sons, go dancing, and enjoy life properly.
Because what’s the point of doing all these things if you’re too tired to really experience them?
A closing tune to my current mood:
